KIDS

KIDS

Have kids? No worries, we've got you covered. First United Methodist Church offers programs for kids who are 5 years old through 6th grade. Your children will be in a safe environment where they will learn about Jesus and have a fun time doing it.   Nursery care is available with pre-registration by Friday the week you plan to attend, for toddlers and pre-schoolers.  Miss the pre-registration deadline, no worries.  Children are always welcome to remain in the sanctuary and we provide quiet activities to keep active hands and minds busy.

After a Children's Message in the sanctuary during the worship experience, elementary school-aged children are then escorted by our team of caring volunteers under the leadership of our Children's and Family Ministries Pastor, Deacon Wes, to a special time designed just for them that make the Bible come to life with fun and engaging teaching, games, and activities.  When worship is over, the kids are dismissed to parents or caregivers.  On Sundays when we celebrate Communion and remember Jesus' last meal with his friends, children participate with their families in the sanctuary.

Sound good?  Save time and let us know you're coming, especially if you have toddlers or pre-schoolers, by registering in advance here.

WHAT WE TEACH

Your kids will experience an age appropriate lesson that will teach them about God and His love for them. The teaching is interactive and utilizes multiple approaches for different learning styles. The goal at First United Methodist Church is for kids to understand who Jesus is and how He can make a difference in their lives. We also want them to learn how they can make a difference in the lives of others no matter their age!  They will also have a lot of fun in the process!

SAFETY

Volunteers at FUMC Oak Park are trained to create an atmosphere where families can confidently leave their children while they are in the worship experience. Every volunteer is screened with a background check and the kids hallway is always secured and monitored. Don't worry parents - we've got this!
