First United Methodist Church of Oak Park will hold a free concert on August 4 at 6pm.
The church address is 324 N Oak Park Avenue. The concert is free and open to the public.
The musicians offering their talents to the evening are:
Sarah Carrillo (Trumpet) a native of Massachusetts, spent much of her early life studying with members of the Boston Symphony, both in Boston and at Tanglewood. Upon completion of her bachelors degree from Boston University where she studied with the legendary Roger Voisin, she came to Chicago to attend Northwestern University, from which she received her masters degree. Sarah has performed with many groups in the Chicago area, including: Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Northbrook Symphony, Peoria Symphony, Joffrey Ballet Orchestra, Highland Park Strings, The Chicago Arts Orchestra, Elmhurst Symphony, Chicago Symphonietta, South Bend Symphony, and Northwest Indiana Symphony. She has also performed with the Gulbenkian Funducao Orchestra of Lisbon Portugal, the Boston Symphony, and the New World Symphony.
Eun Joo Ju (Organ) Eun Joo Ju received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she studied with Dr. Dana Robinson. Additional institutes of learning include Manhattan School of Music (Professional Studies, Master of Music) and Hansei University (B.M./ M.M.), Korea. At the University of Illinois, Dr. Ju was the recipient of the Gerald Crystal Organ Fund Award and the Marcella K. Brownson Memorial Fellowship. At the Manhattan School of Music, she received the Bronson Rogan Award and President Award. She is an accomplished accompanist, choir director, with numerous recitals in Illinois and New York as well as in Korea. She currently serves as Church Musician at the Peacemakers Korean Covenant Church in Schaumburg as well as at the First United Methodist Church of Oak Park.
