First United Methodist of Oak Park Rally Against Racism

On July 18th more than two dozens members of First UMC of Oak Park lined both sides of Oak Park ave. outside the church and encouraged drivers to Honk for Racial Justice as part of the United Methodist Church Stand Against Racism.

According to the United Methodist Church, racism is a sin. In the Northern Illinois Conference, one of the three strategic goals is to live out the conviction that racism is incompatible with Christian teaching.

Pastor Reid has challenged us to continue moving forward and use the rally as a foundation for us to follow up the rally with prayer, discussion and action.
