Rev. Elizabeth Bowes - Guest Preacher for July 22



Our preacher for this week will be Rev. Elizabeth Bowes. Elizabeth is an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church with a passion for social justice.  She holds a Masters in Theology and Ethics form Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.  She has served various churches in our conference in the area of faith formation and discipleship as well as taught at North Central College. 

Since 2014 Elizabeth has transitioned her ministry into being a trainer in our denomination.  Her passion is nurturing and equipping individuals to be effective leaders in their churches. She has developed a tool she calls “Courageous Conversations” that helps congregations have meaningful conversations across difference. This past fall she worked with the East Ohio Conference to develop there own tool on how to have conversations around the special commission on “A Way Forward.”  

Most recently she has been hired by Everytown for Gun Safety in America as an Organizing Manger in the Midwest.  She is the mother of two grown daughters and grandmother two granddaughters’.  In her spare time Elizabeth enjoys being outdoors either biking, hiking or Stand Up Paddle boarding.
