First United Methodist Church, 324 N Oak Park Avenue in Oak Park, will host a Sing-Along Messiah on Sunday, December 2 at 3:30 pm. This beloved tradition provides the opportunity for singers of all ability levels to join together in singing Handel's classic score.
A professional orchestra and conductor will assist the singers. The event is free, and the love offering goes to support Housing Forward, which provided many essential services regarding housing for the community. A speaker from Housing Forward will be present to help tell the story. Musical scores will be available for $10.
The singing will being at 3:30 pm, with singers divided into sections by standing signs. Room for a listening audience will also be provided. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
The soloists for this performance are Susan Krout (soprano), Beena David (mezzo soprano), Stanley De Cwikiel, Jr. (tenor) and Joseph Smith (bass).
