On April 9 we will discuss chapter 6 of "Canoeing the Mountains." EVERYONE is welcome -- our Council on Ministries and Cabinet are requested to attend. We will begin at 6:30 pm, and the Council on Ministries will be free to leave or stay at the conclusion of the book conversation. If you would like a book, please let me know. This book and our conversations are around future directions for our congregation. Everyone is welcome to participate!
Ideas to discuss:
What is our organizational culture as a congregation? John Kotter defines this as the "group norms of behavior and the underlying shared values that help keep those norms in place." (p. 73)
How is our culture providing strengths for ministry in the present? How might it be creating our current challenges? "Today's problems are from yesterday's solutions." (p. 75)
What are some ways that we might work towards greater alignment within the church? (p. 75ff) clarity (78-79) embodiment (79-81) love (81-83)
