This Sunday we will continue our Big Questions with Heaven. Most of us have questions about heaven. A good start would be those questions we learned in grade school for writing reports: Who, What, When, Where, Why?
How do you imagine heaven? What sights and sounds, what tastes do you imagine as a part of that experience? What are your hopes?
This is a topic where the questions may be more important than the answers. Martin Luther, who many consider the founder of the Protestant Reformation, said that our attempts to imagine heaven are similar to an infant's attempts, while in the birth canal, to attempt to imagine life outside the womb. His analogy may be helpful as we consider the John 3 passage where Nicodemus comes to Jesus in the dead of night to ask Jesus about being sent from God.
After worship, meet in Fellowship Hall around the table set up near the parlor to discuss glimpses of heaven and ideas on the topic (about 10-15 minutes.) And invite folks you know who might be interested in the topic!
